Last Chance to Nominate Your Favorite Writing Websites!
Since 1998 Writer's Digest has created its 101 Best Websites for Writers list. Broken down into categories like creativity, agents, writing advice, indie publishing, genre-specific categories, and more, this list aims to help writers find additional reputable resources for every part of their writing journey.
There is no limit to the number of websites you can nominate, though you'll have to fill out the form again for each new entry. You can, of course, nominate a site that you manage or own (we hope you do!), and you can feel free to share the nomination form with your website readers/followers. However, websites selected to be featured in the final list will be chosen based on the quality and accessibility of the content, not the number of nominations they receive.
The last day to nominate websites is Monday, December 6, 2022.

Five WDU Courses Begin This Week!
Write Great Dialogue
Dialogue can be one of the most interesting parts of a book to read, but only if it is done right. Sharpen your writing skills and challenge yourself to craft engaging, yet believable dialogue that will keep your readers interested. When you take this online writing workshop you’ll discover how to write dialogue that advances your story’s plot. Plus, examine examples, formats, and tips for writing dialogue.
Fundamentals of Fiction
Have an amazing story idea, but need to learn the basics of how to write a book? Creating a story that is dynamic and engaging takes a lot more than just setting aside an hour every day to write. This course will take you through all of the basics of writing a novel, including how important it is to choose a great setting, how to build characters, what point of view you should choose, how to write great dialogue, and more.
Grammar and Mechanics
Do you remember the difference between the 8 parts of speech and how to use them? Are you comfortable with punctuation and mechanics? No matter what type of writing you do, mastering the fundamentals of grammar and mechanics is an important first step to having a successful writing career.
Read Like a Writer: Learn from the Masters
This course will demonstrate that the best way to become a good writer is to study the writing of others, especially the work of the masters. Because there are no hard-and-fast rules to writing, it’s important to study what other writers have done and how they consciously make narrative decisions and meticulously select details based on audience and purpose.
The Art of Storytelling 102: Showing vs. Telling
In this six-session course, you'll learn the difference between showing and telling and when it’s good to tell instead of show, how to balance showing and telling to create memorable characters and realistic, seamless dialogue, how the right mix of showing and telling can help you establish a powerful narrative voice, and more!
