Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 656
Every Wednesday, Robert Lee Brewer shares a prompt and an example poem to get things started on the Poetic Asides blog. This week, write a sleep poem.
Sometimes I think there's a little serendipity involved with figuring out these prompts (sometimes months) ahead of time.
For instance, this week's prompt is to write a sleep poem. Sleep is something I've been getting, sure, but I've had such a busy schedule recently that I'd like a little more. And if I can't get it, well, I can still write about it. We all can!
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

It's free, easy, and the comments (for the most part) don't require manual approval (though I check from time to time for those that do).

Here’s my attempt at a Sleep Poem:
“day dream,” by Robert Lee Brewer
always so close
i feel you in my mouth
widening & then my eyes
shut as i think of finding
a nice quiet place
to get you alone
