Today starts our final week of this challenge. So, appropriately, I want you to write a hopeless or blues poem. We’re almost there, which is reason to celebrate, as well as reason to get the blues.
Here’s my attempt for the day:
“Tokyo insurance blues”
Got a brand new home
stepped on by Godzilla
only to find that my home
insurance policy only covers
damage caused by Mothra
and Gigan. Also, my new car
was crushed by Godzilla’s tail,
which is covered, but only
on Thursdays, and it goes
without saying, that the damage
was done on a Wednesday
when I was working from
home. Of course, the office
building wasn’t touched,
so much for telecommuting.
