2023 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 2
For the 2023 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Day 2 is to write a childhood object poem.
Yesterday was a great start to the 2023 November Poem-A-Day Chapbook Challenge, but we've got many more days to go. So let's keep it going!
For today’s prompt, write a childhood object poem. Think of an object from your childhood and write a poem either about it or that incorporates it into the poem. The object could be a good thing (like a favorite shirt) or a bad thing (like yucky medicine).
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at a Childhood Object Poem:
“Digital Clock”
Even after all these years,
I've kept it as a totem
of what I lost and what
haunts me still. Even now,
it counts out the moments
though it doesn't display
the time. All the times,
when I watched the minutes
never change; all the times,
when I just wanted to get
away; all the times, when
will they ever change?
