2021 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 13
For the 2021 November PAD Chapbook Challenge, poets are tasked with writing a poem a day in the month of November before assembling a chapbook manuscript in the month of December. Today’s prompt is to write a luck poem.
For today's prompt, write a luck poem. I will admit that I picked today's prompt based solely off the day of the month. 13 is an unlucky number for some, and a lucky number for others. However, you don't have to write a poem based off numbers. You can write about horseshoes, four-leaf clovers, or something completely unrelated. Also, the luck can be good, bad, or somewhere in between.
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at a Luck Poem:
“falkor”
when i was a boy
i was fascinated
& repelled by
a white luckdragon
named falkor that
seemed nice enough
& could fly & didn't
appear to breathe fire
but like most things
in neverending story
seemed to balance
on the extraordinary
& the sinister & maybe
it's true that i wondered
what it would be like
to fly along on his back
but i've always been more
than a little afraid of heights
