--------------
About Sarah: She joined Folio Literary in 2011. Prior to that, she was an editor for several publishing houses (Random House, Hachette Book Group, S&S), working on books for both the general and the Christian markets.
She is seeking: "Commercial fiction that pulls on your heartstrings (think Billie Letts or Nicholas Sparks). For Christian fiction, I particularly like women’s fiction, contemporary romance, thrillers, and Amish fiction.
"In Christian nonfiction: progressive, Emergent Church, humorous, or slightly irreverent Christian voices. I will also consider some traditional, evangelical, or conservative writing but it must be fresh, well-thought out, and offer a new perspective that stands out from the crowd.
"Narrative nonfiction/memoir and investigative journalism that enlightens or inspires, tells a story of overcoming great odds, tackles issues of social injustice or inequality, or shares acute observations mined from the deceptive simplicity of everyday life. Prescriptive nonfiction with an emphasis on health, wellness, diet, relationships, or self-help are also a good fit." Sarah has more info on her likes online.
How to contact: [Sarah is no longer agenting. Do not query her]. For nonfiction, send a query with information on your project and platform. For fiction, please include the first 5 pages of your manuscript pasted into the end of your email. Please do not send attachments. "I try to respond to queries within 2-3 weeks; if you don’t hear from me after four weeks, please do resend your query – your email may have gotten caught in my spam."
