Unlit Lighthouse

Every writer needs a little inspiration once in a while. For today’s prompt, the local lighthouse is unlit for the first time in over 100 years.

Living near the shore, I'm enamored with lighthouses. I like that they can be a symbol of hope on one hand, but on the other, a really nice setting for a horror story.

For this week's prompt, night is falling and the local lighthouse remains unlit for the first time in over 100 years. Who will got to investigate? What will they find?
