Are you a member of a helpful and creative writing group? Do you meet with fellow writers to share your work, receive thoughtful feedback, get a boost of inspiration, and hang out with others who love the craft? We’d love to hear from you!
We are currently working on an article for the July/August issue of Writer’s Digest magazine that will feature writing groups from around the country. The article will include advice on creating and maintaining writing groups. What makes them work— and what doesn’t? What formats have you tried? What tips would you like to share with new writing groups?
To submit, answer the questions below—and include a pic of your group in action!—and send to rachel.randall@fwmedia.com by February 15, 2014with the subject line “Writing Group Submission.” Your group may be selected to appear in a future issue of Writer’s Digest magazine!
Answer these questions:*
- Tell us the name of your group, where you are located, and how large the group is.

- What works for you in terms of format? Have you tried formats that don’t work so well?
- How often do you meet, and what do you do during meetings?
- What do you do between meetings?
- What are the most important ways you support each other?
- What have you learned as you’ve grown together?
