Notice how many suitcases and pieces of luggage look similar as they tour the baggage claim at the airport. Notice how some travelers tie a ribbon or bright piece of yarn onto their suitcases' handles for instant identification.

Think of your writing voice as such a ribbon. I would think that a writer would like to be recognized, on the page, as quickly as possible. Think of the writer who, if you were given one page of their work, you would be able to identify immediately. The list is rather short. It's something for which to strive.
