The foremost strategy for getting published is to write something good. Developing writers often think about getting published in terms of making the right contacts, researching prospective publishers, and submitting a manuscript in proper format. All those elements, and more, play a role. But when it comes to getting published, nothing matters more than content.
Writing is mostly thinking. Give yourself time to rethink your work. Resist the urge to rush to publish. Rewrite, set the piece aside, rewrite, seek out critiques, rewrite, and rewrite some more. Always sent only your absolute best work.
