Lou Mathews

Lou Mathews is the author of the novels L.A. Breakdown and Shaky Town. He has taught in UCLA Extension’s acclaimed Creative Writing program since 1989. His stories have been published in ZZZYVYA, New England Review, Short Story, Black Clock, Paperback L.A., and numerous fiction anthologies. He is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, a Katherine Anne Porter Prize, and an NEA Fiction Fellowship, as well as the UCLA Extension Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Instructor Awards.
