Alverne Ball is the author of the crime fiction novels Blue Religion (October 12, 2021; Sacramentum Press) and Only the Holy Remain (2016; Vital Narrative Press). He is also the writer of the bestselling graphic novel Across the Tracks: Remembering Greenwood, Black Wall Street, and the Tulsa Race Massacre (May 4, 2021; Abrams) and the forthcoming, multi-issue comic series, Crook County. Alverne is the 2019 Tin House graphic narrative scholar and the recipient of 2014 and 2015 Glyph Comics Rising Star Awards for his writing on One Nation: Old Druids.
