Author George Singleton was recently awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. The Guggenheim foundation offers Fellowships to scholars and artists to further development in any field of study.

Singleton is the author of the novel Work Shirts for Madmen, a story collection titled The Half-Mammals of Dixie (named a top ten book by Amazon.com in 2002), as well as other short story collections.

He is also the author of Pep Talks, Warnings and Screeds, a book of advice and aphorisms for writers from Writer's Digest books.
