Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 657
For this week's prompt, write a summer poem. After all, today is the first day of summer (at least in the northern hemisphere). And if you need some inspiration, here are some of my favorite summer poems.
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

It's free, easy, and the comments (for the most part) don't require manual approval (though I check from time to time for those that do).

Write a poem every single day of the year with Robert Lee Brewer's Poem-a-Day: 365 Poetry Writing Prompts for a Year of Poeming. After sharing more than a thousand prompts and prompting thousands of poems for more than a decade, Brewer picked 365 of his favorite poetry prompts here.

Here’s my attempt at a Summer Poem:
“two fawns,” by Robert Lee Brewer
two fawns watched from behind the fence
as the fireflies sparkled in the sky and bats
flew over our heads beneath the sliver of
moon smiling upon our little baseball game
in the backyard played with a plastic bat
and tennis balls and far off in the distance
we could see (but not hear) heat lightning
