2023 April PAD Challenge: Day 6
For today's prompt, write a poem that smells. Or at least, write a poem that involves the act of smelling or a scent of some sort. Could be the sweetness of honeysuckle, or the very unique smell of a portable toilet at an outdoor festival in the middle of summer. Something nostalgic, or something triggering. Let your nose guide you.
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at a Smell Poem:
"betty's perfume"
i don't catch it as much now
as i used to when i was younger
the scent filling me with the thought
of hugs and kisses and endless delights
at my grandmother's house
as she'd press me for details
about all the pretty little girls
and smile at anything and everything
i ever had to say and there was a time
when that smell would knock me over
but now i mostly miss it
and wonder if she has a couch in heaven
watching over all the little boys and girls
waiting for us all to come join her
and tell her a story
