Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 182
For this week's prompt, write a patriotic poem. Whether you live in the United States or any other country, write a poem that pays tribute to your country. Or if you're not feeling particularly patriotic, run it back the other way. Whichever direction you choose, please remember to respect the views and opinions of your fellow poets. Let's try to poem nicely.
Here's my attempt at a patriotic poem:
"Blue"
The sky and
eyes of my children
when they look
at the flag
raised high above them like a
rippling ocean
as we hold
our hands over hearts
and sing or
hum along
the anthem we know inside
as the stars, the stripes.
