OKLAHOMA DETAILS

The Oklahoma writing event is held from May 3–5, 2012, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a large conference, and features plenty of authors, editors, and agents.

WHO WILL BE THERE?

At present, five literary agents are set to attend: Terry Burns (Hartline Literary); Stephen Fraser (Jennifer De Chiara Literary); Louise Fury (L. Perkins Associates); Emmanuelle Morgen (Stonesong); and Jessica Sinsheimer (Sarah Jane Freymann Literary). The agents look like they represent just about every category between them with plenty of overlap.

The keynote is author Steven James. Steven has received wide critical acclaim for his work including four Storytelling World Honor awards, two Publishers Weekly starred reviews, and 2009 and 2011 Christy Awards for best suspense. His thriller, The Bishop, was named both Suspense Magazine's and The Christian Manifesto's 2010 Book of the Year. James’ newest book, The Queen, became available in September, 2011.

OTHER REASONS TO ATTEND

All the details are online (click "Conference Brochure" in the list on the lower left), but here are some interesting tidbits:

  • An authors' autograph party
