4. She awoke to her wrists and ankles bound by twine, and the man paddling the kayak attached to hers was most definitely not her husband.

5. Rowing with paddles whilst rowing about money, I couldn’t believe I had agreed to this honeymoon: far too much canoeing and not enough canoodling.

7. As he approached the waterfall, he remembered how his wife, following behind, had insisted he pay his life insurance premium prior to their vacation.

8. It wasn’t like Ray to go quiet on us, but we honestly didn’t think anything was up til we saw his empty boat.

9. Three times I’d shot him, and three times he’d waltzed back into my life, treating our relationship like a scenic paddle down a nameless river.

10. They were straight out of a travel magazine, the beautiful woman in the kayak and the man who was going to drown her.

I enjoyed many but “a” is my choice since I can relate to the dreaming and feeling like I am in that dream at an older age. I think many people feel this way.

May I ask who votes on the sentences that make it to be voted on by us the readers? I only ask because, there
were some interesting and intriguing entries, but I feel that my entries were also very good. Just curious, no
put down to any of those entered.

When will the next contest be held? I don’t see one for the month of August, and it’s now Sept 1st. Is there a way to get a notification when details of a new contest are released? (This is my first day as a member on this site)

Hi there! The next contest will be posted tomorrow, so check back then 🙂 Unfortunately there’s no way to get notified when a new contest is posted, but we generally always have at least one going. Hope that helps!

I’m still not sure with the prompt, so it means we only make one sentence, 25 words? not followed with the long story? I really need an enlightened.

Yes, that’s correct. It’s just one sentence, 25 words long maximum. We run two types of contests on this page: a 1-sentence contest, and a short-story contest. We generally alternate between the two. Contest #76 is a one-sentence contest. Hope this helps clarify!
