What is a book packager?
A book packager is a middleman who supplies books to publishers. The company (or individual) may supply the books in any form from raw manuscript to bound copies. The packager usually signs a contract with a publisher, then signs a different one with the writer/content provider, based on what the packager things they can get the writer to do the work for, and what the writer thinks she’s worth for that particular job. Some packagers pay the writer a flat fee; other split the advance and royalty with the author.
