Hot Tip for Proposals #13

How to Write a Book Proposal by Michael Larsen

Avoid using a resume instead of a biography. Resumes are too formal and contain information editors don’t need. Through your proposal you may be applying for work, but you’re not applying for a job. If you are an artist of professor and you think your resume is also necessary to prove your qualifications, make it an appendix to your proposal. Make your bio a clear, concise description of your life and work. If you are writing a humor book, be funny.
