The last couple of weeks, I’ve been working with my publisher/writer friend on videotaping segments for YouTube.  We’ve taped some actual excerpts from his play, and one of the lectures he has prepared for a lecture/book tour.  I’ve even done an “interview with the author” segment, and have taped a book review that is going to be uploaded soon.

We plan to use the link in mailings as we schedule the lecture series.  It gives us a platform for explaining what his work is about and how he presents himself.  Well…somewhat…I’m learning as I go and we’re taping outdoors, so the quality is getting better but it’s still a bit rough around the edges.

It will be interesting to see how this medium will work as a marketing tool.  We’re learning that short segments with interesting titles work best.  We’ve had almost seven hundred hits in the last three weeks, and haven’t even provided the link to anyone yet.

If you’re curious, here is the link.  I’ll keep you updated on how effectively this works as we plan the tour.
