I wish I had saved the link off of Twitter, but I did not. Guess it was too frustrating.
The link was to a website by and agent, or former agent, not sure which.
The blog post boiled down to saying a writer should not post any personal information on a blog (in other words, if it’s not related to your writing, don’t post it). Okay.
Then, they proceeded to state that they should never mention their writing journey (no notes on what you are writing, the process, such as query letters, rejections, acceptances, etc). keep it professional.
So question? If you cannot post any personal notes (my dog had a bad day). And aren’t supposed to post anything about your writing until you have a publication, what is the purpose of a blog for an unpublished writer?
It can’t be personal.
It can’t be professional, as you can’t say a thing about what you are doing.
Defeats the purpose to me. Does anyone understand the missing component here?
