I had to share this –

I received one of my SASE’s in the mail yesterday – with my own original letter enclosed. Scrawled across the top was a personal note from the agent letting me know that while it was an “excellent proposal”, she didn’t think she had the right contacts to get it published.

So, I was pleased to have feedback from a cold-call submission that the proposal might not need any more tweaking for now, but I was also impressed with the agent’s creative way of saving on paper in her office. Instead of pre-printed letters all saying the same thing, writing a short note on the original letter has to be a great cost-saver.
