Even without the explanation, I was able to follow where the poem was going. However, I also agree with TP that the pains that are closest to us are the hardest to “get right” on paper; because we’re too in tune with our emotions at the time. Sometimes you can get the thoughts your trying to convey across to the public and sometimes you can’t. I tend to free write first, (when the writing is very personal), and then I go back and take what is salvageable from that to create something more universal. Anyway, your last stanza will be forever stored into my memory bank, okay? And I can only give a virtual hug and express my sympathies. That must have been a VERY difficult situation to go through and mentally deal with.
