Since your tag indicates you are deeply religious, why not start there? Even though flyers like Guideposts may or may not pay, at least you would develop “Clippings” to show other editors.

Check out newspapers like the Christian Science Monitor, or conservative periodicals like Reader’s Digest and the revised Saturday Evening Post, and Grit.

And yes, post a sample or two in the non-fiction forum down below. Keep it under a 1000 words and we’ll dissect you like a frog under a microscope! 🙂

Naw, we’re not that bad. We can probably help you though in looking at your work from a popular view. Academic writing is not the same as writing for a mass publication. When we snuggle into our LA-Z-Boys, get the light adjusted just so, over the left shoulder, have that hot cuppa on the little reading table beside us and the kids chained in the basement, we want to relax and read works that flow well.

We don’t mind idealistic works, or ‘meaningful’ works, we just don’t want to read ‘dry’ works. Not that yours are, I’m just covering one possibility.

So, come on down.
