What you will also have to watch out for is the term “Work For Hire.”  Even if you aren’t paid for something, this dreaded term can mean whoever you created a work for owns the work, even if you created everything on you own.

Has the church just flat out refused to give you copies of the DVDs, or stated flatly that they own the rights?
