hematite – 2008-11-16 12:53 PM I’m really enjoying both the tv series and the books. The books have everything from Sookie’s POV. The tv series is able to develop characters in a completely different way from what Sookie sees of them. Like Lafayette. I was so upset with him when I thought he was working with drainers! And I absolutely love how they changed Tara. I have a friend who only watches the tv series who looks at me like I grew a second head when I say how I really like Eric (but am not too fond of Bill). I love seeing the little hints the tv series has been putting in about things that happen in later books, though I guess they’ll be branching off more and more from the books as they go along. A good thing, that. I don’t want to know everything that’s going to happen. I’m waiting eagerly for her to get the next book (number 8?) out.

Book 8 is out (From Dead to Worse). It’s still in hardback, and I don’t think book 9 will be out until late next year. 🙁

Now as for Tara, she wasn’t in the first few books, and I didn’t care for how…bitchy they made her. Her book character was much nicer, but it was also written from Sookie’s POV, and Tara is nice to Sookie…most of the time.

ABOUT THE BOOKS: I totally understand your feelings about Eric. I’m still hoping Charlaine will let Bill redeam himself in the end. Sookie might not end up with Bill, but I do hope that the author will at least let the two men be equal to Sookie. Bill was genuinely sweet, but he had orders. Eric is usually sweet when it benefits him in some way. I can’t decide between the two of them. I know what Bill did was terrible, but I also think that Eric wouldn’t be the best choice for Sookie. I like Sam, but I can’t see Sookie ending up with him either. Oh well…guess we’ll just have to wait and see.:)
