Pendragon – 2008-11-12 1:44 AM Well I normally balk at Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving but to each their own. As for Songs: O’ Holy Night, Carol of the Bells, Mary Did You Know, Gabriel’s Message, and Run Run Rudolph. Movies: It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St (the original), Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Scrooged (Bill Murray), and Scrooge (1970 musical) I love that one. O.k. that’s all the christmas spirit you’ll get from me until after Turkey day.
I try to wait, but Christmas is my favorite time of year. It was my mom’s, too. She loved Christmas. I still get teary-eyed when I remember helping her set up the tree the day after Thanksgiving. She always said she wished they would switch Halloween and Thanksgiving so she could start earlier, and not bother with Halloween. She hated that one. I still have some of the old tapes she used to play in July with nothing but Christmas music. (She died in ’94)
It’s a bit harder to get in the Christmas mood here in Florida, where the temp hovers around 70 this time of year, and there is NO snow. I grew up in Minnesota. Christmas without snow, well, it just isn’t.
