You are not alone. I think of Stephen King and the story about how he tossed his novel “Christine” in the trash because he thought it was no good. Then because of his wife’s encouragement it eventually got sent to an agent, published and made into a movie. I believe I read that in his memoir “On Writing”.
I think most writers are afraid of stories being crap and are in need of other eyes to read it and give opinions so they are encouraged to put that butt in the chair and finish it, or leave it in the garbage container and start over.
