OK, James, I have my first little point of disagreement with you. I have been polishing and submitting short stories to mags. And have some rejections. That is expected, I know, but with the rejection you get no feedback as to why it was rejected. I realize the people reading the stuff submitted are really pressed for time and have no time for critique of the things they reject. So, if you do not submit it for critique, how do you know what needs improvement in what you are writing? Because you really get no feedback from the rejection.
