Sorry, I didn’t mean to be flip. I know that you’re new to the forum, so I’m sure you’re not aware that our hvnlykarma (aka Kim) is in fact oh-so-very-close to landing an agent, and so she is well on her way to getting her memoir published. Your comment and timing just struck me as ironic, that’s all. 

BTW, I encourage you (and everyone here) to check out Kim’s blog (http://thenext24.blogspot.com) if you’re interested in an example of what (IMO) publishable narrative nonficition looks like.  I think an excerpt from her memoir is posted there as well.
