Writing is very personal and you should start with what feels natural to you. I think you can also start wherever you want in the story because nobody really knows where the beginning or end of their story will be when they start writing.

Yep.  A fair number of writers sit down and write the ending, and the “back engineer” the rest of the story.  The only way to write a story that actually makes sense is to find the way that works for you, whether it’s outlining, not outlining, or spirit writing.
