Henriette Anne Klauser Ph.D.
I’m sorry to hear about your family’s loss. My first pregnancy (and third) miscarried, too. We waited the prescribed 12 weeks before announcing it; I’d just started a pregnancy journal with our first ultrasound picture, when I started spotting and knew something wasn’t right. I was sad, to be sure, but it helped to know that miscarriages happen a lot, and most of the women I know had normal pregnancies thereafter.
In answer to your question, though, your reaction is your own. No right or wrong. Grieve as you need to grieve, then move on when you’re ready.
Your family is in my prayers today.
