The funny thing is that most of the films made from his books are fantastic.

I’d have to point out his earlier books (Christine, Cujo, Salem’s Lot) and disagree wholeheartedly.  Now understand, I’m a huge Stephen King fan.  I was given The Gunslinger when it first came out and read it in one sitting.  From there I was off and running.  However, I liked the psychological aspect of a lot of King’s works, so my favorite is still Rage (which he wrote as Richard Bachman) and that’s saying something, considering I’m a teacher!  I also loved Gerald’s Game, and when I read Christine at 15, I slept with the light on for 3 nights straight because I kept seeing the greenish ghost from inside the car rising up at the foot of my bed.

But that’s just me.
