I pretty much neve rfeel anything when I’m writing. This is doubly true with short stories. I’m too in the zone, writing on automatic pilot. I’m concentrating on just telling the story in the best way possible, and making teh characters as realistic as I can.
I can’t fathom that zone. I get almost schizophrenic when I write in that the characters become real voices in my head arguing with me and telling me the story.
“And when Mandy did that, I warned her that…”
“No, no, no, I’d never say that, and you know it!”
They’re fictional characters. I know I made them up. But it doesn’t stop them from talking to me. 🙄
