I suspect most published writers have plenty of fan mail to inspire them. If you’re a published novelist who isn’t receiving fan mail, well, you have bigger problems that what kind of reviews you get.
And as I said, I think saving/believing the good ones while throwing away/disbelieving the bad ones is dishonest. Best to ignore them all. It’s the readers who matter, not the reviewers.
