JessicaLeigh – 2007-03-26 1:25 PM “I hope it’s big enough,” when buying clothing for someone at Christmas–most skinny people don’t think–they blurt things out & never realize how insensitive they may sound. They’re not even trying to be insensitive, their mindset is simply different. I’m fortunate enough to have learned what NOT to say!! Oh & personally, black coffee is the only coffee. Everything else is hot cocoa. 🙂
You made me laugh out loud with your comment about “I hope it’s big enough.” Believe me, fat people NEVER get clothing for a gift for that very reason. Too big is an insult; too small is embarrassing.
I wish that was true! My father’s family (the skinny people from whom my body type comes) bought my mom clothing every year! And every year, someone would exclaim, “Try it on,” or “Is it big enough?” They did this to both my mother & my uncle (who is almost 7′ tall). Needless to say, both my mom and my uncle are both remarried now!! HA! HA! HA!
