Do I continue without her?

…if you want to write, yes!… she’s obviously not wanting to keep flogging that poor never-alive horse for another ten years…

Do I write her characters out of my book so that I don’t bother her to write with me?

…you have to do more than that… since you two collaborated on the whole thing [= more than just ‘her characters’], she is the legal ‘co-author’ and if you didn’t have a collaboration contract in place [which you should have and i doubt you did], and if she doesn’t give you a release [drawn up by a literary attorney] you’d be crazy to continue writing something you will most likely never be able to see published [either by a paying press, or a self-publishing venue]…

Do I finish without her help?

…only if you have her signed release giving you permission to do so…

Will she prevent me from getting published if I finish without her?

…as is, she’d have every legal right to do so… and/or to sue you after the fact, if you do it…

Do I just give up and start a new story.

…YES!… if you really want to be a writer, you have to learn to walk on your own, without holding anyone else’s hand… besides, if after 10 years, that ‘story’ still isn’t finished, it’s probably hopeless, anyway…
