TexasPoet – 2009-03-25 12:41 PM Academic poems are poems that are worthy of writing grants and fellowships. Academic poems are sometimes called “literary works” meaning they are intended mainly for academic readers and other professional poets. I thought this poem fit that definition perfectly, not because of its audience (because I think all could enjoy this poem) but that academic readers and other professional poets wouldn’t read it and say “Ah, yes, quite.” I can’t be an academic poet…..I tried….but the best I can do is free-verse commoner poetry…..but….maybe one day. Tp 🙂

Thanks for the kind word and feedback. :emoticon:
