For ten years, I have been hosting a TV show in my neck of the woods. I have always worn a Christian cross around my neck, however, my beliefs and opinions are never mentioned on the show (it’s about the size of a quarter). I liken it to wearing my wedding band. I would feel odd without it. For the first time ever, the GM received a complaint from a viewer about me wearing it. His knee-jerk reaction is that I am never to wear it on-air again. I asked him if it were the Star of David or any other symbol, would it be an issue and he said, “Probably not.” I told him that I was upset with his decision. Another manager has told me to continue to wear it. What do you all think? Has society become so cynical that my one little necklace is that big of an issue?
