Angela Roquet

The rain drops wash away the summer scent
mint, olive, sea foam drain from the leaves
as mums jump from their stems
and corn is plucked from its stalks
the sky cries and sighs a confused gray

Panicked trees have become schizophrenic
undecided, brilliant
exquisite little minds that lose their grip
slip into colorful delusions
played out over paranoid landscapes
