Switching from third person to first person

Postby Esteno213 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 7:29 pm

I am working on a novel.

I started in third person and in certain pieces of dialogue find myself going to first person.

Is it acceptable to go from first to third person if the reader is able to follow it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. If it's dialogue, it's in the voice of the character speaking. How would you write that in 3rd person, other than the rather stilted "royal we" type of thing?

========

acceptable to who

depends how well you do it and where
in the same dialog though, i doubt it

a dialog is between two people and belongs in 3rd person

you should post examples and it would be easier to comment and show where there are problems if they are there
