Looking for beta-readers

Postby sketchesbynitesh » Thu Aug 24, 2017 12:37 pm

Hey guys,
I've just recently finished the first draft of my manuscript and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how can I find beta-readers for it.
Also, I've been writing a blog for roughly two months and if feasible, I would love to know your opinion about my writing.

===========

local writer groups do that for each other
hire an editor to do it

skimmed the blog
did not grab me
i am picky and there were things that annoyed me that others may not care about
not that bad but you irritated a few of my style hot_ buttons which as i note others may not care about

the question is
do you like what you wrote
if not why didnt you edit it until you did

You can posts parts of it here for critique, also, though that isn't a full blown beta. Otherwise, as mentioned, try to find a local writer's group, or via writing forums. It's a good idea to get to know the people first, if possible, because if there isn't a pretty good fit (experience, knowledge, interests), it can not only be a waste of time but make things pretty awkward in the group. I would suggest posting parts here first, because, quite frankly, it's also hard to find people to look at an entire first draft. Most want something that's close to finished (ie, nearly ready to submit). And getting comments on a portion can usually point you in the right direction for edits/revisions overall.
