My Progress

Postby OccasionalWriter » Fri May 05, 2017 1:20 am

Well, it's been months since I've last checked in with you all. I can't say there's much to tell, except that I am published times eight with a website for Indie authors. I just bought two more copies of my self-published novel, which may come in the mail tomorrow or Saturday. I submitted a short story to a magazine, but I still haven't heard back from them. A different short story is now published on another website. I look for opportunities to write with no expectation of payment in return. I write for free. I do get royalties for my first book, but they are minimal, and the book is getting older. I gave away a number of the books as gifts, too, because I wanted my loved ones to read my work and value it. Mostly, I want to create a name for myself and have fun. Writing is my life, as I have fallen in love with my own characters and stories. There was an expression, "It is better to be feared than loved," but I always wanted both.

Good luck with progress in getting better known. It's great that you write for fun, and I hope you find plenty of opportunities to become "loved and feared". Keep writing! :)
Read samples of my Martian series (by Dorothy Piper) and two romances (by Joni Havel) on Smashwords.
Hard copies of all are on Amazon.

Sounds like the way to go. :)

Yeah, why do anything just because you enjoy it? Life's too short for that nonsense.

I'm not a millennial. I've worked my butt off all my life, being a single parent, putting myself through college and grad school, trying to make a living in spite of right wingers who think only the wealthy deserve handouts. But your comments here certainly explain a lot re: your abhorrent attitude toward everyone on this forum.

All of this - including your multiple bans - came about because you couldn't respond in an adult manner to anyone who disagreed with you. You'll be treated like an adult when you start acting like it.
