Just finished reading THE MARTIAN. What a way to bring an old lady into the modern world of life on,or should I say No life on Mars. Absolutely fascinating.
Long, long afterward in an oak I found the arrow still unbroke
And the song from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend

The movie was great. I tried to get the book from the library but it'll be a while before I can get it. Long waiting list.

I agree. The Martian is one of the freshest and best s/f novels I've read in a long time.

I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible. I don't know how I've missed this for so long! I love Animal Dreams, by Barbara Kingsolver. This novel of hers is even better. Her descriptions are incredibly vivid.

Just finished reading "Rabbit Redux" by Updike. Really enjoyed it. A simple story but so well written. It was my first time reading this author. :D

I'm currently reading "The Extinction Cycle" (series) by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. There is 5 books to the series and I'm on book 4, loving every minute of it. This series is very interesting and the imagery in the book really gets you lost in it as if you were right there.

I'm in the middle of "Of Human Bondage" by W. Somerset Maugham. Great story, and I wonder now why I avoided this novel.
