What Audiobook are you Currently Listening to?

Postby TWErvin2 » Tue Feb 25, 2014 7:40 pm

I'm currently listening to Tricked, the 4th novel in Kevin Hearn's Iron Druid Chronicles.

I've enjoyed the Iron Druid Chronicles, especially as an audiobook because not only does each hold a great storyline and an overall developing story arc, but some great characters brought to life (sound) by the narrator Luke Daniels.

The series is about Atticus O'Sullivan (the name he goes by) who is the last surviving druid, being over 2000 years old. He's been hiding out/laying low for centuries from some of the Irish gods, who are interested in getting back a powerful sword they claim he stole. Well, the last druid got tired of running (in the first novel, Hounded), and is now dealing with the repercussions, along with new adventures, from that choice.

I just finished listening to What's So Great About Christianity, by Dinesh D'Souza, narrated by Jeff Riggenbach.

This book is focused on a discussion as to whether it is reasonable to believe in God, or if those who are atheists are on the right track. The author argues that it is logical, while not referencing scriptures for proof or support. It discusses historical inaccuracies and logical fallacies for those who argue against faith. It covers a wide scope and should be interesting both to Christians and to atheists--but both would need an open mind to consider all aspects of the discussion.

I hate audiobooks. partly because there's never a time when I can do nothing but listen for that long, and partly because it just isn't reading.

Just finished listening to When the Devil Dances by John Ringo. It's the 3rd novel in his Posleen War series.

I spend a lot of my audio time previewing books for my kids. Last series that is worth repeating was Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game".

Movie was good. They at least kept true to the essence of the story, but I was sad to see the brother and sister's roles virtually eliminated.
