Looking for Writers to Collaborate!!!

Postby appalachiansundry » Thu Jun 09, 2016 4:38 pm

We would like to do something for the children at St. Jude's Hospital. A group of individuals who love the arts, the Appalachian Mountains, and who strongly support St. Jude's reseach, have come together to collaborate and publish a collection of poetry, visual arts and short stories from artists in the Appalachian region. All proceeds are donated to help fund St. Jude's research and give these children the life they deserve. We want as many of you to participate and contribute.

Submissions are accepted June 9-September 1 2016. The book is planned to be published on October 1 2016. We are looking for talented individuals who have made a place in their heart for the Appalachia's. We will do our best to give you a quick response. Your response time will be less if you follow all submission guidelines.

Submission Guidelines

Poetry: we want you to send up to 8 poems of any genre. Send poems in one document in the form of docx, rtf or pdf.
Short Stories: send up to 3 short fictional pieces no more than 6,000 words per piece in the form of docx, rtf or pdf.
Visual arts: Send no more than 5 pieces per submission in the form of jpg or png.
Be sure to add any contributor notes if you see fit. Include a short bio no more than 250 words with contact info (email and phone #).
Previously published and unpublished works are all welcome.
Please no material that is offensive to race, religion or sexuality. Your submission will not be accepted.
Depending on the volume of submissions, your submission may not be accepted. This is in no way an insult to the quality of your work.

Submit works via email to submissionvfamd@gmail.com

As all royalties are in the form of a donation, we will not be able to compensate contributors. As a contributor, you will still have to pay for your copy, but only the printing cost (not much).
