Postby T.A.Rodgers » Thu Sep 07, 2017 7:32 am

Since my post got lost among one of the crazy long email strings, here's the link again.

Here's another one.

These appear to be ones you can audit only. Access to all course material only. These classes appear to cost $49 per month.

Okay, it's been 4 years since I last took a course from Coursera. It appears they now charge $49 per month for full access. You can audit the course for free, but you don't get graded or participate in the class discussions. Still sounds like a great price. Cancel at anytime.

I might have a go at the "plot" course. As long as I can attend it for free.

It appears you get access to all of the material, you just can't do the assignments.

I found a series of classes I may take from the University of Maryland on security. It will cost me $39 per month, but that's not that bad.

It's been a while since I used Corsera, too, Terry. Will you remind me, please, as to what is involved in 'auditing'? Thank you.

Coursera offers certificates. Actually, it's whatever institution that puts up the class that offers the certificate. If you're simply seeking to learn, almost all classes are freely available.

I keep starting and stopping a Calculus class there. And some other I.T.-related ones.

Auditing just means you can read through all of the course material. You can not participate in the class discussion nor do you turn in class assignments or take tests.

Thank you both. Still undecided, but will probably take part.

Free online writing classes sound great.

And they are from Wesleyan University.

I used to wonder what they teach at University writing classes. But I have been watching some YouTube videos of actual college writing classes.

YouTube is a great resource. :)
