It's OK to brag here! In fact, we encourage it. Tell your fellow writers about your most recent sale, a new market you cracked, etc.

Regards from Germany!

Postby JessicaKoch » Tue Aug 22, 2017 9:48 am

Hello everyone,

my name is Jessica Koch and I am a German author. My book "So Near the Horizon" has been translated into English and is going to be published in the USA on 6th September 2017.

Now I am looking for some kind fellows and marketing tips that will help me as a clueless German (the market in the US is probably quite different to the one in Germany, so I apologize in advance for my questions ... ) :D Glad that I've found this forum!

Thank you and best regards from Germany,
Jessica

welcome

congrats on getting the book published
who published it ?

i suggest you talk to your publisher about marketing
social media is feasible from anywhere
it is hard to do much in person even if you spent the time and money to come to the usa

i see the internet says it was nr 1 in germany so that explains why they translated it
YA has a good market here

i see you have some sort of tour scheduled too
they help but are more promotional than to do sales

talk to your publisher for more ideas
the other big marketing area is reviews

there are books on how to market books
kremers 1001 ways to market your book is a classic

I'll move this into the proper forum. Keep in mind that your publisher should be organizing the marketing for this book. Also, the best promotional tool is the next book that you write.

If you'll look at the reversed line at the top of the page, you'll see it has been moved to "Success Stories", which is where all notices of publications of books should be placed.
