Short Stories accepted for publication

It's OK to brag here! In fact, we encourage it. Tell your fellow writers about your most recent sale, a new market you cracked, etc.

Short Stories accepted for publication

Postby lionetravail » Fri May 01, 2015 10:34 am

On the plus side, the first anthology with one of my print stories in it has been published!

http://www.lulu.com/shop/rogue-planet-p ... ingsReview

I can't swear for the whole anthology (having not seen it yet), but my contribution to it is ~6800 word sci fi story which appeared in a much more preliminary serial version back about a WD prompt near Christmas 2014... The anthology is about adventures in the asteroid belt- my story is Asteroid Christmas if you choose to check it out.

To this point, I've been fortunate enough to have 14 short stories accepted for publication, most in the last few months, plus a publisher has asked to look at my completed novel (which I am querying for, of course).

So, stiff upper lip and all that- good things happen with persistence and attention to detail. Luck to my fellow writers!

Congratulations! It certainly looks as if you are on the right course. :)
Read samples of my Martian series (by Dorothy Piper) and two romances (by Joni Havel) on Smashwords.
Hard copies of all are on Amazon.

And another success to report: sharing the link to Espec books, where a short story of mine was selected as two winners of a contest fusing a story about the Pony Express to cosmic horror (of the Lovecraftian variety) in celebration of the 155th anniversary of the Pony Express.

They're also running a new contest in their Weird Wild West fusion genre, for my fellow WD writers who fancy entering.

You have an inspiring stories. Somehow I read a lot of successful stories and one of them is http://selfpublishing.solutions/best-se ... uccessful/

the holy trinity uniting the ten keys: content, communication, and commitment. Having courage, a plan, patience, discipline, faith in yourself, a long-term perspective; failing your way to success; simplifying your life; and celebrating your victories

These keys challenge you to balance yin and yang—creating content and communicating about it. Integrating them will create synergy and a literary ecosystem that will flourish as long as you sustain it. You can adapt the keys to other fields and your personal life.

@Adena, thank you so much for commenting and for the link :)

New good news:

I am most fortunate to have had another anthology come out in print which contains three of my short stories- “Growing Pains” was published by Horrified Press under its Sinister Saints division as a set of YA stories. Mine run the gamut from myth (The Boy Who Was A Snow Owl) to sci fi (Rough Adolescence) to horror (Salted Earth).

In addition, and free to anyone, another story accepted to an anthology about “The King In Yellow” (a classic cosmic horror set of stories by Robert Chamber and featured prominently in HBO’s True Detective season 1) has also been released by Zoetic Press/Nonbinary Review. Their free E-reader app is “Lithomobilus” and is available in the apple App store. The books they’ve published are free as well, and my story “Of Kings, Queens, and Knaves” is featured in the anthology.

Wishing continued success to my fellow writers!

David
